What varies

Study costs

The treatment and tests that are part of the study are often provided, but what's covered differs, and some routine care may still be billed as usual.

Travel and time

Some studies reimburse travel, parking or meals. Some don't.

Payment

Some studies pay participants for their time. Many don't, and payment should never be the only reason to join.
