Accessibility

Many people looking for a study live with a condition that affects how they use a screen. The site should work for all of them.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the whole site.

What we've built in

A “Skip to content” link, page landmarks and one heading per page, so screen readers and keyboards can move around quickly.
A visible focus outline on everything you can reach with a keyboard, and dialogs that keep focus inside until they close.
Buttons and controls at least 44 pixels tall, and text inputs large enough that phones don't zoom in.
Text and controls that meet contrast guidelines, and meaning that never depends on color alone.
Animations that turn off when your device is set to reduce motion.

What we haven't done yet

We haven't had an independent accessibility audit yet. We test with automated checks and by hand, and we'll publish what an audit finds when we have one.
